Instructor: Catherine Bonier //
This studio focuses on urbanization, sprawl, development models, land consumption, and containment techniques, including smart growth, greenbelts, and growth boundaries. Students will explore the impact of practices, pressures, processes, and cultural preferences on the expanding city through design. This course will examine the impacts of remote work and the shift of urban populations to Canadian towns and villages.
Students will design phased mixed-use developments with an eye to preserving wetland ecologies and local culture.
